Step 1: Exploring and Supporting Micro Movements through Touch
Whether you are a seasoned bodyworker, therapist/healer, or just embarking on your journey in the healing arts, Step 1 will empower you to initiate supportive touch, aiding and transforming clients in their recovery and healing processes.
Step 1 is meticulously designed to lead participants in the practice of supportive self-contact, creating a roadmap for practitioners to assist clients in self-initiated support and eventual healing. Step 1 serves as an entry point for practitioners to begin implementing supportive contact with clients, thus generating the inherent self-healing capacity of both body and mind.
In this offering, we will explore the basics of touch using the wisdom and expertise of the Dynamic Somatic Touch approach. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of DST and directly apply them during and throughout sessions. Practical and easy to follow exercises and demonstrations will allow participants to directly experience the remarkable effectiveness and immense relief of DST.
Designed for timely empowerment, this program enables participants to promptly initiate DST interventions with clients and for themselves, leading to accelerated results.
In Step 1 we will:
- Learn a new way of working with and supporting the body to unwind deeply held patterns
- Sense and say “hello” to tissues
- Sense the preferences and unconscious movements in the tissues
- Learn about the importance of micro movements in the resolution of limiting restrictions (trauma) on our wellness in body and mind
- Dynamically follow the micro movements of the tissues towards healing
- Learn how unprocessed emotions create patterns in the tissues that can interfere with wellness
- Support the resolution of embodied emotions with micro movement
- Safely support the process of unwinding unconscious bodily and emotional patterns
Dynamic Somatic Touch (DST)™ is a new Trauma and life approach model developed to expedite the work of trauma resolution and the unwinding of body based dysfunctional patterns. It is a melding of Ortho-Bionomy®, Somatic Psychotherapy, Osteopathy, Focusing, Psychophysiology, Biodynamic and Depth Psychology as well as several western and eastern philosophies.
DST encourages, supports, and makes possible the permanent alleviation of long held bodily limitations, nervous system activation, and limiting belief systems. Through the incorporation of touch, narrative, and empathetic presence, students are empowered to master the effective resolution of difficult and painful emotional, bodily, and mental experiences.
